Trump has been under siege over the last ten days or so since his firing of FBI director Comey. He has been subjected to serious allegations over his affairs and possibly sharing secrets with Russia. Trump has called the effort investigate him a “witch hunt”. However, yesterday Trump took a definitive step, going on the record to deny the allegation that he told FBI director Comey to drop the investigation of Mike Flynn. Responding to a clear question about whether he made such a request, Trump told a reporter “No, no. Next question”.
FINSUM: So Comey’s account is at odds with Trump’s. It remains to be seen if there is any actual evidence to be considered here, or whether Comey is just slinging allegations like he did towards Clinton during the election.
